The LOS does not remove portal work
Loan teams can have a modern LOS, document tools, CRM workflows and pricing systems, and still spend their day checking investor portals, uploading files, downloading conditions and reconciling statuses.
The reason is simple: the portal is where the counterparty's process lives. The LOS keeps the file, but the next operational step happens on someone else's screen.
Fragmented by counterparty
Each wholesaler has its own login, labels, required uploads, condition formats and exception rules. One backend integration across the whole lender mix is rarely realistic, so the work lands on processors.
The cost shows up as processor time, missed updates, slow condition clearing and uneven borrower communication.
Automating the coordination layer
A digital worker can watch the portal queue, move documents, pull conditions and update internal systems, the way a processor does, without waiting for every counterparty to offer an API. The LOS stays the system of record; the digital worker handles the browser work around it and sends exceptions to the team.
